The Austrian Business Chamber (ABC) is a registered Section 21 Company in South Africa founded in 1996. This body represents the interests of Austrians in business in Southern Africa as well as the South African business sector in general with Austrian ties and connections.
The ABC focuses on providing specialized services to members and is offering structured activities. The main emphasis is on networking and the facilitation of business contacts. The membership base consists of individuals and companies, from small local companies to large, international and Austrian-representative concerns. It is the aim of the Austrian Business Chamber to maintain a strong member base from the private business sector, in order to further the business interests of its members and promote these beyond the South African borders to neighboring countries, but also internationally and to the European Union in particular.
The Austrian Business Chamber works in close liaison with the AUSTRIAN EMBASSY, THE AUSTRIAN CONSULATE and THE AUSTRIAN TRADE COMMISSION, Johannesburg where the ABC also has its base.
The ABC maintains close ties with other Bi-lateral Chambers in South Africa to ensure a regular exchange of information and networking opportunities. It also actively participates in issues requiring representations and lobbying to Government and its Agencies
The ABC is an established Business Chamber and was registered as a Section 21 Company in 1996. The ABC has achieved a status which puts it on equal footing with other Bi-lateral Chambers in South Africa. This enables the ABC to operate in a forum where it is a respected and formal “voice of business” for its members.
