The Austrian Business Circle (ABC) is a registered Austrian South African Business Chamber in Southern Africa. This body represents Austrians in business in Southern Africa and the South African business sector in general.
The ABC focuses on providing specialised services to members and is offering structured activities. The main emphasis is on networking and the facilitation of business contacts. The membership base consists of all kinds of individuals and companies, from small local companies to large, international and Austrian-representative concerns. It is the aim of the Austrian Business Circle to form and maintain a strong member base from the private business sector, in order to further the business interests of its members and to promote these beyond the South African borders to neighbouring countries, but also internationally and to the European Union in particular.
The Austrian Business Circle works in close liaison with the AUSTRIAN EMBASSY, THE AUSTRIAN CONSULATE and THE AUSTRIAN TRADE COMMISSION, Johannesburg where the ABC also has its base.
The ABC maintains close ties with other Bi-lateral Chambers in South Africa to ensure a regular exchange of information and networking opportunities.
The ABC is an established Business Chamber and was registered as a Section 21 Company in 1996. The ABC has achieved a status which puts it on equal footing with other Bi-lateral Chambers in South Africa. This enables the ABC to operate in a forum where it is a respected and formal “voice of business” for its members.
